The first stop on my walk was the area around the fountain on UW-Milwaukee's campus. The fountain is located between a few academic buildings and is a popular spot for students to hang out by and get some sun. In the parking lot north of the fountain there was a garbage truck collecting from a dumpster.

There were around seven kids playing at the playground accompanied by some adults. Next to the playground were a few groups playing tennis.

I went down to the beach right by the parking lot off of N. Lincoln Memorial Dr. (street shown on map is labeled incorrectly) and found an interesting fence-like wood formation sticking out of the water about 10 feet off shore. There were rocks surrounding it and I was able to stand on them and record the sound of the water swirling through the formation as the waves came in.

There was a long line of people outside of the Oriental Cinema waiting to see a screening of one of the films being shown during the Milwaukee Film Festival that had been going on that week. The red circles on the map indicate the line of people and the dashed line shows the route I took while recording.

When I returned from my walk around Milwaukee, I thought I would take a minute to record some of my neighborhood's sounds from my front porch. It was a nice day and there were birds chirping from the trees and a construction crew working down the street and driving back and forth.
